Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their financial reporting department. You will thrive in this role if you are a critical thinker who is quick on your feet, proficient in Microsoft Excel, and experienced in full-cycle accounting.
Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant
-Reviewing and/or preparing ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations, moderate to complex detailed schedules, work papers, and journal entries
-Performing fluctuation analysis of financial statement variances, writing reports on the findings, and providing supporting documentation for the conclusions
-Researching and analyzing highly complex accounting rules and regulations, while determining their relevance to our client
-Developing and optimizing policies and procedures related to functional areas of responsibility.
-Analyzing business processes to identify potential problems and recommending changes to optimize the process and/or internal controls
-Ascertain whether company assets are properly accounted for and safeguarded from loss
-Developing policies and procedures related to functional areas of responsibility and conducting initial internal control evaluations
-Serving as department liaison with internal and external auditors
-Providing mentoring and day-to-day guidance to new staff members and other Accountant staff
Main Requirements for the Senior Accountant
-A bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, or a finance-related field
-4+ years of experience as an accountant
-A history of overseeing fixed assets for a company
-A strong understanding of variance analysis and full-cycle accounting
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar accounting software

This Senior Accountant is a hybrid position based in Austin, TX, and is targeting a base range of $75k – $90k
