To support the Digital Transformation journey they are currently on, they are looking for an enterprise Cloud Data Architect who is passionate about solving business needs to join their growing Data and Analytics team. Join this exciting journey in modernizing their Advisor Solutions to our next-generation Cloud Platform. You will be responsible for working with cross-functional teams to expand, optimize, and improve overall data quality and set up next-generation data orchestration using modern cloud tools and technologies. As the cloud Data Architect, you will be designing and building secure and resilient architectures, with the goal of providing actionable insights to their Advisors for them to optimize their business.

What YOU get to DO at this award winning company

  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses
  • Defining the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, reference data, and master data
  • Ensuring documentation of the data architecture, and training data engineers to promote architectural consistency across the enterprise
  • Attending design/code reviews with data engineers, application engineers, and infrastructure teams to ensure the upholding of architectural standards and guidelines
  • Assisting data engineers with their designs of data flows/pipelines that extract data from a wide variety of data sources using Azure, Snowflake Cloud, etc. 
  • Lead the design of data models to get actionable insights from data, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring for all inbound and outbound data processes. Work with the data provider to bring in new feeds into our data eco-system
  • Define quality metrics, promote Test Driven Development (TDD) based code and other techniques to meet overall data quality standards, and ensure the automation of the data testing processes and integration of them with monitoring systems
  • Analyze existing systems (including legacy) and data sets to help Business Analysts define the functional and non-functional requirements
  • Meet with the business users, assist with data-related technical issues, and support their data infrastructure needs Data Architect 

What YOU need to SUCCEED in this role

  • Strong experience in working with Azure Cloud Services: Data Factory, SQL database, Functions, Data Lake, Databricks, Logic Apps, and Azure Automation
  • Fluent in object-oriented and functional script language: Python, Scala, and C#.
  • Advanced working knowledge of SQL Server database – writing advanced SQL script, profiling, and optimization
  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence tools: Microsoft Integration Services, Reporting Services, and Analysis Services, as well as PowerBI
  • Experience with other Big Data tools such as Spark, Snowflake, and Kafka
  • Inquisitive nature that drives continual assessment of data engineering technologies for improvement in the engineering experience
  • Preference for background in Financial Services, ideally in the Wealth Management/Independent Broker Dealer/RIA industry
  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, MIS/Information Management, Engineering or related field 
  • Position located in Austin, TX office
