They are looking to add a Senior Data Engineer to their growing team supporting the next wave of cybersecurity products and solutions helping them build out their data strategy for their machine learning aspects of the product.

Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Data Engineer

  • Create a roadmap for Praetorian's data acquisition and labeling efforts.
  • Create tools to find, ingest, organize, maintain, and label complex data sets for use in machine learning models
  • Work with data scientists to create and maintain data ontologies for security
  • Work with security engineers to identify and label vulnerabilities in source code repositories
  • Continually evolve the data engineering infrastructure and techniques to improve their ability to find security information
  • Mentor junior data engineers and teach them how to use data engineering techniques to solve real-world problems
  • Communicate complex concepts to team members 
  • Creation and curation of source code datasets for the machine learning effort
  • Creation of data engineering pipelines to find and ingest source code
  • Creation of data engineering tools to help label and validate data

Primary Requirements for the Senior Data Engineer

  • Experience managing large, complex datasets for machine learning applications
    Experience designing and building data processing/ETL pipelines
  • 8+ years of development experience with a variety of programming languages and technologies (Java, Python, C++, C#, JavaScript, Go, Scala, etc.) and modern technology stacks
  • Prior track record in a hyper-growth, high-tech company
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience 
  • Experience and interest in identifying security vulnerabilities in source code
  • Experience and interest in machine learning
  • Understanding of statistics and data analysis
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with Git, Mecurial, Maven, Gradle, other build and source code mgmt tools
  • Experience with Google BigQuery, Compute Engine, and Cloud Storage
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience in static analysis
  • Experience with micro-services architectures
  • Experience with cloud platforms and SaaS solutions
  • Experience with agile/scrum development practices
  • Experience with test driven development, continuous integration, continuous deployment
  • Ability to self-direct work and truly own the position in a hyper-growth environment
