The Product Ownership team drives software development efforts to align with business needs. This individual works as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements needed to build or improve information systems. He or she is expected to interact with the business analysis, project management, and development teams. Proven experience in understanding business challenges and translating them into requirements is necessary

What you will do as a Product Owner

  • Create user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Manage product backlog and prioritize items to maximize product value
  • Create product vision and guide the development team to realize the vision
  • Communicate requirements to development teams
  • Work with the development team to groom requirements ahead of sprint planning meetings
  • Bridge between stakeholders, development team, and end users
  • Champion product roll out
  • Assist with end user training and post release support
  • Plan, monitor, and communicate project progress

 
Required Skills and Experience required for the Product Owner

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Systems related fields plus 5+ years’ experience
  • Agile Certified Product Owner Certification is essential, SCRUM Cert ++, PMI/PMP++
  • Self-starter, team player, and collaborator
  • Ability to put various points together to make smart decisions and see the big picture
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including communicating with diplomacy, discretion and tact
  • Exhibit good listening and comprehension skills and quickly synthesize information to conduct in-depth analysis
  • Strong service orientation and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, management, and outside business partners
  • Proven understanding of software development life cycle process, including Agile and Scrum
  • Proven track record of working effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure, facilitate solutions, and meet deadlines and milestones for projects assigned
  • Maintain high ethical standards and strict confidentiality of all information on the network
  • Confident and capable of assuming new tasks and responsibilities
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Windows, and other Microsoft products
  • Ability to create and use project plans to manage workload
