As the company continues to grow, they are looking for a Lease Accounting who likes challenges at a forward-looking energy company with a long history of outstanding service to join its fixed asset team. In this job, you’ll manage contracts,  perform fixed asset accounting,  analyze accounting transactions, and develop financial reports and disclosures.

What YOU get to DO at this innovative company: 

  • Review, research, and update existing leases and contracts
  • Review and interpret lease agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment
  • Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger and prepare the monthly fixed asset roll forward
  • Prepare detailed schedules for journal entries general ledger accounts sub-ledger reconciliations and intercompany account reconciliations.
  • Oversee month-end close items related to fixed assets, leases, and other items as needed
  • Provide subject matter expertise on lease accounting standards and regulations, such as GASB 96
  • Ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements, our client’s policies, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. 
  • Research and analyze highly complex accounting rules and regulations and determine their applicability to our clients. This also includes participating in the review and analysis of contracts (i.e. leases, subscriptions, asset purchases and sales).

What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:

  • Five or more years in accounting, business, economics, or relevant experience. 
  • A degree(s) in finance, accounting, business or a relevant field 
  • Experience with GAAP compliance 
  • Lease experience or history of working with contracts 
  • Experience with capital projects in the past is a plus 
  • Ability to work well with other people as this team values teamwork, so this role will not be a completely independent type.
