Senior Accountant

Our client is currently looking for a highly motivated Accountant to join their dedicated team in La Grange, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining ledgers and financial records of the organization as well as reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting financial data.

What YOU get to DO at this AWESOME company:
- Maintain ledgers and financial records including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable records, bank reconciliations and cash disbursements in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
- Review, analyze and interpret financial data for use by management
- Prepare and supervise the preparation of various local, state, and federal tax assessment reports.
- Perform monthly close processes by reconciling ledger accounts, reconciling balance sheets, reviewing revenue and expense accounts, reconciling inventories, and preparing monthly financial statements.
- Work with external CPA firm on the annual audit. Prepare tax returns and estimates for tax deposit requirements.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with federal and state payroll wage and hour laws and best practices.
- Work with consultants on property tax reporting to the state and local tax jurisdictions as well as consultants that work on regulatory reporting.
- Monitor company compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting requirements.
What YOU need to SUCCEED in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred or equivalent experience, plus two years of accounting experience.
- Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), accounting, or finance is a plus.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is a plus.
- Financial preparation experience, with experience in a senior-level role.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
- Able to problem solve, work well under pressure and meet deadlines, manage a team and delegate tasks effectively.
- History of developing and implementing financial plans and budgets.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with customers, employees, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
