Application Engineer

Position Overview
The Application Test Engineer will provide technical leadership in the development, implementation, and support of automated test solutions for semiconductor devices. This role focuses on the design and deployment of test programs for both digital and RF devices using advanced Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support test development activities on semiconductor ATE systems, with a focus on digital and RF applications.

Design and implement ATE test programs (Java-based) for digital and RF devices.

Troubleshoot and resolve software and test-program issues in complex environments.

Develop RF test methodologies and solutions for technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), 4G/5G, UWB, and mmWave.

Collaborate in the design of hardware for RF device testing, including RF matching and de-embedding techniques.

Ensure product performance and compliance with functional specifications.

Integrate ATE hardware, software, and custom solutions into customer test environments.

Analyze customer requirements to provide optimized test-program development, conversion, and implementation strategies.

Plan, track, and deliver complex test development projects to completion.

Represent customer technical requirements to internal engineering and product teams.

Maintain expertise in RF measurement and characterization techniques.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Proven experience developing and releasing ATE test programs into production (V93000 or similar platforms preferred).

Proficiency in Java and Python programming.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Solid understanding of semiconductor test methodologies and industry practices.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

5+ years of hands-on experience with ATE test development, preferably on the V93000 platform using SmarTest 8.

Experience with wireless connectivity standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax).

In-depth understanding of Rx/Tx testing, EVM, IP3, P1dB, gain, S-parameters, and modulation analysis.

Hands-on experience with RF instrumentation (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes).

Demonstrated leadership in test architecture or project management.

Familiarity with AI or machine-learning concepts for enhancing test automation and efficiency.
