Director of SEC Reporting

Are you a seasoned SEC reporting professional who thrives on autonomy, ownership, and high-impact work? We’re partnering with a publicly traded company headquartered just north of Austin that’s looking for a sharp, self-driven Director of SEC Reporting to take the reins of their external reporting and financial compliance efforts.
This is an individual contributor role — ideal for someone who loves the technical side of financial reporting and wants to lead the function without managing a team. You’ll work directly with the Controller and CFO, own the SEC filing process, and help elevate the company’s reporting precision and compliance strategy.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the preparation and submission of 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and other SEC filings
- Manage monthly production and reporting of financial results, including budget, forecast, and variance analysis
- Partner with external auditors during quarterly and annual reviews
- Support SOX 404b implementation, focusing on Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR)
- Provide insight and financial analysis to support strategic decisions across the organization
- Operate as the in-house expert — delivering results that previously required external CPA firm support
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
- 6+ years of experience in financial reporting (public company or public accounting background)
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX 404b
- Strong collaboration skills across Finance, Legal, and Executive teams
- Experience with platforms such as Workiva, Oracle, SAP, or similar
Why This Opportunity Stands Out:
- Autonomy & Ownership: High-impact role with no direct reports
- Executive Visibility: Regular interaction with Controller and CFO
- Industry Growth: Join a company at the intersection of data center infrastructure, AI, and high-performance computing
- Competitive Compensation: Salary + bonus + strong benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k) match)
If you’re an SEC reporting leader who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and driving results — without red tape or a corporate maze — we’d love to talk.
