Director of Strategic Sourcing

Our client, the world’s largest provider of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) to the semiconductor industry is seeking an experienced Director of Strategic Sourcingto join the team. This onsite role, based in Lake Forest, CA, requires a dynamic leader who can drive supply chain resilience, cost optimization, and vendor management to support critical business outcomes.
What YOU get to DO in this key leadership role:

Address supply chain resilience as a core strategic development initiative.

Collaborate with Contracts, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to secure favorable contractual terms and conditions.

Manage assurance of supply, including buffer strategies and Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI) programs.

Drive improvements in cost, cash flow, and quality by identifying and leveraging cost drivers.

Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across all levels of the business to align sourcing strategy with organizational goals.

Partner with finance, compliance, and legal experts to ensure alignment with company policies and regulations.

Provide critical reporting and cost analysis to support sales, product development, and program management teams.

Deliver in-house production cost and scheduling reports while recommending efficiency and cost-saving measures.

Conduct market research to assess supplier performance, pricing models, and industry trends.

Prepare periodic reconciliation reports, monitoring labor, material, and supply costs.

Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in supply chain management.

Background in a technical discipline or technical undergraduate degree strongly preferred.

Proficiency in earned value management systems, risk management, integrated master scheduling, and project accounting.

Semiconductor industry experience (preferred).

Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.

Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and reporting procedures.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; Oracle ERP experience preferred.

Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build effective vendor relationships.
