Overview
The Process Engineer supports the Director of Process Engineering in managing day-to-day operations and leading the process engineering team to ensure stable production, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations. This role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement, supporting development projects, implementing new technologies, and maintaining production infrastructure to ensure maximum efficiency and uptime.
The Process Engineer will also provide hands-on leadership, training, and technical guidance to both engineers and production operators, fostering a culture of safety, precision, and innovation.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain close communication with production teams and continually monitor processes to ensure stable, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing performance.
- Provide technical leadership and support to engineers to drive progress on optimization and development projects.
- Plan, execute, and qualify new technology, process improvements, and production tools.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and results clearly and in a timely manner to stakeholders.
- Support other Advantest production sites as needed by providing process expertise and troubleshooting assistance.
- Train operators, develop and maintain work instructions, and enforce all company safety requirements.
- Work with and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, protective glasses, face shields, aprons, and rubber boots.
- Be available for extended hours or after-hours support based on company needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3+ years of project management experience.
- Experience in PCB manufacturing or semiconductor process environments strongly preferred.
- Candidates from the automotive industry (manufacturing side) may also be considered.
- Candidates from the pharmaceutical or medical device industries will only be considered if they have worked directly in chemical manufacturing environments.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to process improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English.
- Ability to work in a chemical processing environment and comply with all safety protocols.
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed and travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.
