Purchasing Agent

Our client, a leading contract electronics manufacturer, is looking for a resourceful Purchasing Agent to manage the sourcing and procurement of electronic components and products. In this role, you’ll ensure the timely and cost-effective purchase of materials to support production and operational goals while maintaining high quality and regulatory compliance. What YOU get to DO in this key position:
- Identify and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers of electronic components.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to optimize costs and value.
- Coordinate inventory levels based on production schedules and market demand through ongoing analysis.
- Monitor and ensure product quality meets technical and regulatory standards.
- Manage the full order cycle: issue purchase orders, track shipments, and address delays or discrepancies.
- Conduct market research to stay informed on pricing trends, supply chain risks, and new product developments.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, quality systems, customer requirements, and applicable laws including import/export regulations.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) processes by sourcing materials aligned with design specifications.
- Contribute to the company’s quality initiatives and demonstrate accountability in quality-related tasks.
What you NEED to SUCCEED in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Electronics, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, ideally within electronics or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong understanding of electronic components (e.g., semiconductors, PCBs, connectors).
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
- Advanced Excel skills for tracking procurement data and inventory.
- Skilled in vendor negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing.
- Familiarity with international sourcing and import/export regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Strategic, cost-conscious mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
