Our client is a leader in the manufacturing of crop protection, adjuvant, and plant nutrition products. They adhere to stringent safety protocols and environmental stewardship standards, and they are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join their team. This individual will partner with the plant management team and lead the QC Laboratory to ensure accurate and timely analytical support, compliance with divisional quality systems, and the promotion of continuous improvement across the facility.

What YOU get to DO in this role:

  • Manage the plant’s Quality System (QA) and QC Laboratory to support efficient production and uphold all quality standards.
  • Monitor, review, and evaluate the implementation of divisional quality programs and plant-level practices to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure QC laboratory procedures are properly written, executed, and that equipment and instrumentation are well maintained.
  • Provide training and coaching for lab technicians to ensure analytical readiness, problem solving, and process accuracy.
  • Control laboratory expenses while maintaining appropriate resources, training, and production support coverage.
  • Deliver timely analytical reports to internal teams and external customers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Investigate field complaints, analyze samples, and provide technical support for corrective actions.
  • Support divisional quality initiatives by maintaining risk-based QMS programs, assisting in audits, and contributing to best practice sharing across facilities.
  • Partner with production teams to develop solutions for out-of-specification batches, recommending process controls and adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Foster a safe, environmentally responsible, and hospitable work environment by conducting safety training, ensuring housekeeping practices, and analyzing environmental samples.

What you NEED to SUCCEED in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field (minimum of 20 semester credit hours in chemistry).
  • 5+ years of experience as a lab technician or chemist in the chemical industry, with strong expertise in HPLC and GC instrumentation.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills to support production and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for coaching, training, and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to manage laboratory operations, expenses, and compliance within a regulated industry.
