Amanda is a professional recruiter and Penn State University alum. Learn about why she loves recruiting and what she likes to do outside of the office in the Q&A below.

Describe your role at recruitAbility.
I’m responsible for finding and placing candidates in finance & accounting and sales & marketing roles.

What made you want to work in recruiting?
I’ve always had a passion for helping people reach their goals. On top of that, I just love talking to people. Recruiting in this capacity gives me the ability to do both.

What’s your favorite part of recruiting?
Helping someone secure the role they’ve been looking for is by far my favorite part. It’s very satisfying to see someone excited for their next journey, and even more satisfying to know I played a part in that happiness.

What made you want to join recruitAbility?
I was looking for a company that I could believe in and that stood by their core values. More importantly, I wanted to join a team as opposed to being another replaceable cog in the machine. As I continued through the interview process, recruitAbility checked all my boxes, so joining the team became a no-brainer!

What’s your favorite part about living in Austin?
I consider myself a crazy dog mom, so the fact that I can take my pup almost anywhere I go is a huge perk. The endless access to live music is also a BIG perk.

Favorite spot to get food in Austin?
Micheladas is probably my favorite. There are soooo many great places, but they have a really cool atmosphere and I have never been disappointed by their brunch and dinner options. Another perk is that it is a bit of a hidden gem, so I know there’s never going to be a long wait when I’m hangry.

What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
I love anything that involves the water. I frequent Lady Bird Lake on my paddle board, and I also love taking my dog on adventures!
