Our client is an organization that provides legal, consulting, and compliance services to corporate, government affairs, and political clients. The firm operates remotely with occasional in-person meetings and events, and is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to support its growing financial operations. This role will work closely with leadership to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient accounts receivable management across internal teams and client accounts.

As the organization continues to expand, they are seeking a professional who brings strong accounting knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What YOU get to DO in this important role:

  • Generate, review, and distribute client invoices with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Process incoming payments and record all transactions in accounting and invoicing systems.

  • Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue invoices to support timely collections.

  • Reconcile accounts receivable records and resolve billing discrepancies.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries regarding invoices or payments.

  • Prepare and maintain accounts receivable aging reports for management review.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate account information.

  • Research and resolve unapplied cash or payment discrepancies.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or in a similar accounting role.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with invoicing/billing systems.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial data.

  • Residence in the Austin, TX or Washington, DC metro areas preferred due to occasional in-person meetings.
