Project Engineer, Land Development

Our client is a consulting firm that provides construction engineering and inspection (CEI) services for transportation infrastructure projects across the state of Georgia. The company partners with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure quality delivery and compliance across all phases of civil construction.
As the company grows its presence in Georgia, they are seeking an experienced CEI Construction Project Manager to lead and expand CEI operations. The selected candidate will oversee field operations, manage technical staff, and ensure contract compliance and quality for roadway, bridge, and structure projects. The ideal candidate will be based in Atlanta, though other locations across Georgia will be considered.

Lead the expansion of the CEI program across Georgia for various public sector clients.

Cultivate and manage relationships with clients, consultants, and partner organizations.

Collaborate with internal teams including Practice Development, Technical, Delivery Leaders, and Marketing.

Recruit, hire, develop, and retain CEI technical personnel.

Ensure quality assurance/quality control for all contract work under agency standards.

Assess inspection staffing needs and supervise team deployment and performance.

Oversee project financials and track cost projections.

Step into technical roles as needed during project execution.

Serve as the owner’s representative to manage construction contract compliance and ensure project delivery standards.

Interpret contract documents, provide technical guidance, and ensure quality control of deliverables.
What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:

Minimum of 15 years of experience managing heavy civil infrastructure construction projects.

Strong understanding of CEI service delivery in Georgia.

Proven experience with Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Delivery project methods.

In-depth knowledge of QA/QC practices and GDOT Quality Assurance Program requirements.

Experience overseeing all phases of the construction lifecycle.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to pass a Criminal History Background Check (CHBC).

Georgia Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred but not required).

Certified Construction Manager (CCM) through CMAA (preferred but not required).
