Our client is one of the largest dairy producers in the US, their business supports a network of local cooperatives, independent dealers, and other large retailers serving producers, and animal owners throughout the United States. Through industry-leading R&D and committed partnerships, they innovate nutrition products and practices.

As they continue growing, they are looking for a Plant Project Engineer to lead and manage capital projects at our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in organizing, prioritizing, and executing plant master capital projects. This role involves close collaboration with Plant Managers, Corporate Engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful completion of projects while adhering to budgetary constraints and industry regulations.

What YOU get to DO at this growing company:

  • Coordinate and prioritize plant capital projects, serving as the main link to Corporate Engineering for updates. 
  • Collaborate with Plant Managers to identify annual maintenance needs and ensure adherence to budgets. 
  • Provide engineering support for R&D and Corporate Strategic projects. 
  • Manage project resources, oversee execution, and stay updated on industry regulations and innovations. 
  • Lead plant upgrades and offer technical guidance for ongoing operations.

What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:

  • 2-4 years degree in engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in maintenance, project management, or dairy manufacturing. 
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in food (Dairy) manufacturing principles and practices, such as sanitary design, GMPs, food safety, and quality, are highly sought after. Familiarity with USDA Dairy and 3A requirements is strongly preferred. 
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential. 
  • Additionally, candidates should have experience in capital equipment selection, scoping, bidding, execution, and budgeting responsibilities. 
  • Experience in managing capital projects from concept to implementation is also required.
