As they continue growing, they are looking for an Assistant Director to assume a key role in the Private Debt Fund investment division. This involves actively participating in research for pre-investment strategies, managing investments, conducting operational and post-investment due diligence, and preparing reports.

What YOU get to DO at this growing company:

  • Collaborate with the Alternative Head to establish the Private Debt Fund investment platform and philosophy. 
  • Screen and develop new fund investment opportunities, fostering relationships with investment managers, and conducting due diligence on Private Debt Funds. 
  • Served as a liaison with company offices, promoting ESG investment, preparing investor reports, participating in Quarterly Report meetings, and coordinating with external parties on investment agreements. 
  • Monitoring post-investment activities, managing cash flow, supporting portfolio manager in acquiring new Japanese clients, conducting research, and managing data related to funds and companies. 

What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role

  • Strong academic background, ideally holding a bachelor’s degree in business/economics, with preference given to candidates pursuing an MBA or CFA designation.
  • 3-5 years of pertinent experience in fund investments, particularly in Alternative or Credit fund Selection within an institutional investor or similar setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, especially advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Outstanding analytical, financial modeling, written, and verbal communication proficiencies.
  • Capacity to work overtime as necessary, including participation in meetings during NY morning or evening hours due to time zone disparities with Japan.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, proactive nature, and adeptness at managing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as dictated by business needs.
  • Flexible team player with a knack for adapting to changing circumstances.
